Overland tours for group hire and students Tours for Worldwide travel are designed for those in search of real adventure, who enjoy the unpredictable wilderness. These clients may be solo travelers, couples, or friends in their twenties to fifties who are old enough to appreciate easy and organized travel and young enough to share an adventure which creates true values and an unforgettable experience. Guests may be required to help set up camp and assist in cleaning chaos.

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu

After breakfast at the hotel depart for Samburu national reserve. Pass by Pineapple plantation at Thika, Kikuyu farmlands with coffee plantations and later the largest open air market in East and Central Africa Karatina.Arrive at the selected site in time for lunch. After lunch an afternoon game drive brings you to the animals only restricted at this reserve. Return to the campsite for the overnight.

Day 2: Samburu

Morning and afternoon game drives in the thorn bushes, open plains and vast plains. It gives you the romance of the desert.Samburu is north of equator and contains rare, drought resistant animal species which go for long periods without water. These include reticulated giraffe, grevy zebra, the blue shanked Somali ostrich, the gerenuk and the beisa oryx. Lunch and leisure break at the campsite/lodge in mid afternoon. An optional visit to the semi nomadic Samburu in the afternoon. Later return for dinner and overnight at the selected site.

Day 3: Samburu - Marsabit

After breakfast break the camp to Marsabit national reserve. Arrive at a selected site for camping in time for lunch. Proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park. Elephants, buffalos and kudus will be encountered at the water filled crater. Marsabit is an oasis and extinct volcano, which is densily forested on the upper slopes while the lower slopes are scorched and dry. The park is home to Jumbo elephants and was home to AHMED, the elephant whose statue is outside the National museum in Nairobi. Overnight at a selected site.

Day 4: Marsabit - Kalacha

After the breakfast, make your way past the lava flow to Kalacha, found at the end of the Chalbi desert being a small settlement. Overnight at a camp.

Day 5: Kalacha - Lake Turkana

After breakfast at the camp, depart for Loyangalani. This is the name used for the south-eastern shore of Lake Turkana. Cross the chalbi desert. The desert cannot be crossed in wet weather as the whole of it becomes a shallow lake but alternative roads are available around the north and south. Overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Samburu - Marsabit

The two days you will be at the shores of Lake Turkana. A visit to the Koobi fora museum, at a small extra cost. Visit the Elmolo tribesman which is the smallest tribe in Kenya with the shortest human. Swimming is not recommended as the waters are crocodile infested. Overnight at a selected site campsite.

Day 6 & 7: Lake Turkana

After breakfast break the camp to Marsabit national reserve. Arrive at a selected site for camping in time for lunch. Proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park. Day 8: Lake Turkana - Mararal

After breakfast depart for Mararal, a colorful administrative centre for the Samburu people. The town is used as a transit point enroute to or from Lake Turkana. Overnight at a selected site.

Day 9: Mararal - L.Baringo/ L. Bogoria

After breakfast proceed to lake Baringo for an hour's boat ride which enables you to see hippos at close range and the birdlife that inhabits this lake. Over 350 species of birds have been recorded here including some that conform to a migratory pattern, as well as crocodiles and Egyptian geese which migrate all the way from Western Europe. Drive further to Lake Bogoria. Explore on foot this nature lake and view the flamingoes on their thousands. Caution must be taken while walking near the hot springs as they are super hot. Overnight at a selected camp.

Day 10: L.Bogoria - Nairobi

After breakfast explore further this lake region. Depart for Nairobi via Nakuru If time permits a game drive will be provided. The lake has a fantastic array of birdlife. They include the flamingos, white pelicans and the marabou stork all water birds that breed in the lake's alkaline waters. You may spot white rhino and the rare Rothschild's giraffe. Later drive to Nairobi arriving late afternoon at a budget hotel to take a shower. Overnight at Nairobi or transfer to J.K.I.A for your flight home.
