Lemala Manyara is a traditional safari camp with an incredibly beautiful lake-facing location at the edge of an acacia woodland. Guests who stay here love the isolation and the scenery that it offers. There is a constant parade of wildlife passing by – lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras and wildebeest – and the camp has a perfect location for viewing the park’s spectacular birdlife, including flamingo.
Your game viewing starts at the camp and like other Lemala camps, there is no queuing or time wasting at the park gates. You may start your game drive at 6.15am and end at 6.30pm with a cocktail on the lakeshore at sunset and an option to partake in a night game drive after that. The camp also offers early morning or late afternoon lakeshore walks with a resident guide and an armed ranger, which is a great way to stretch your legs and learn more about the wildlife of the park. Lemala Manyara’s location undoubtedly brings out the best of this gem of a park.
The camp consists of 9 comfortable en-suite tents including a family tent which is suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. As all tents face the lake, guests are often treated to beautiful sunrises. Each tent is spacious and has large single or king-size beds with warm duvets. In addition, there is wooden flooring with rugs, 24-hour solar lighting, and en-suite bathrooms with a dressing area, flush toilet and a great safari shower. The mess tent is elegantly furnished with grand sofas, lamps, book cabinets in old wood, chests and rugs. Guests enjoy campfires, communal dinners and bush meals, taking advantage of the outdoor life as much as possible. House beverages are included at meal times.
